Bushman's Oil started more than five years ago as a blend Nick made for himself.
He wanted something that would nourish his beard, support the skin underneath without leaving it feeling overly oily, and keep his hair looking strong, healthy and alive — with an earthy botanical scent rather than synthetic perfume.
Over the years the recipe was refined. Then his wife started stealing it for her hair.
She loved how it left her hair feeling lush, strong and naturally glowing. So, Nick started making more.
Eventually, we decided it was too good to keep to ourselves.
Bushman's Beard Oil is a deeply nourishing botanical blend designed to condition the hair while supporting the skin and scalp beneath it.
A few drops into wet or dry hair help soften coarse beard hair, nourish dry ends, reduce the feeling of dryness underneath the beard and leave hair with a strong, natural shine without needing to drown it in oil.
The blend combines rosemary and nettle, traditionally valued in hair and scalp preparations along with jojoba and locally produced olive oil to condition and protect the hair.
Wild foraged lemon tea tree brings its distinctive fresh sharpness and naturally aromatic compounds, while vetiver gives the blend its deep, grounded character.
The Plants
Rosemary, traditionally used in hair and scalp preparations and valued for supporting healthy-looking hair and scalp.
Nettle, mineral-rich and traditionally used to nourish and strengthen hair.
Lemon Tea Tree, fresh, cleansing and intensely aromatic. Traditionally valued as an insect-repelling plant, giving Bushman's Oil another reason to wear before heading outside.*
Vetiver, earthy, grounding and deeply aromatic, bringing body and depth to the blend.
Olive oil, deeply conditioning, helping soften and protect both hair and the skin beneath.
Jojoba, lightweight and conditioning, helping nourish without leaving hair feeling excessively greasy.
From Our Landscape
The olive oil comes from the organic grove next door to our home. Our rosemary and nettle come from local regenerative farms. Lemon tea tree is wild foraged locally, and our vetiver is locally grown. All herbs have been processed by hand by us.
We bring those plants together in small batches, then bottle and pack every Bushman's Oil ourselves.
The Scent

Deep vetiver and mellow olive oil sit underneath the invigorating herbaceous of rosemary and the sharper edge of lemon tea tree.
No synthetic perfume. Just plants.
How to Use
Shake to activate, after showering or wetting your hair or beard, place a few drops into your hands and work through the hair, beard and skin beneath.
Start small — you can always add more.
Use it for your beard. Use it for your hair.
Just don't be surprised if someone else in the house starts stealing it.
